1. Lavender Essential Oil

Lavender essential oil is one type of essential oil that is great for treating dry, irritated, or rough skin. This essential oil is extracted from the lavender plant by means of steam distillation at a certain temperature to produce essential oils that are good for various skin types.

Lavender essential oil is beneficial for moisturizing the skin and preventing scaly skin, especially in winter. Lavender is useful for removing wrinkles, aging lines, heals acne and can brighten your skin.

2. Geranium essential oil

Geranium oil contains substances that can remove dead skin cells and promote the growth of new skin cells. This means that geranium oil is good at fighting the signs of aging so that you always look young.

Geranium also contains anti-septic and anti-inflammatory properties which are known to be very good for skin health. It is even said that we can use geranium essential oil on facial skin to reduce sebum production, tighten skin, even out skin tone, eliminate bacteria that cause eczema and acne.

3. Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense Essential Oil is perfect to apply in winter when the skin becomes dry and flaky. It can soothe dry, irritated skin and regenerate dead skin cells.

Frankincense Essential Oil also fights signs of aging such as small lines that appear on the face. Likewise with scars, age spots, and wrinkles.

4. Sandalwood Essential Oil

Furthermore, the best essential oil for dry skin in winter is sandalwood essential oil. It is an oil that has several properties such as anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-proliferative properties.

Sandalwood Essential Oil can be used to keep skin hydrated and is good for soothing skin. It is also one of the best treatments for fighting acne, psoriasis, eczema, and a variety of other skin problems.

5. Rose Essential Oil

Rose essential oil is also an essential oil in the care of dry skin in dry winters. The oil from this rose plant can remove and prevent scaly, and chapped skin due to weather. Using rose essential oil can also get rid of the burning feeling on the skin.

6. Patchouli Essential Oil

Patchouli Essential Oil is one kind of magic oil that is great for protecting your skin in winter. This oil is rich in anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe the skin. It can also get rid of chapped skin in winter.

Dry winters will remove moisture from the skin including dry lips, chapped skin, rough and itchy. All these common winter problems can be prevented by using patchouli essential oil.

This is an essential oil from cucumber seeds, the properties are more or less the same as the cucumber itself. This oil moisturizes dry skin, and removes the fine lines of signs of aging and removes wrinkles.

9. Helichrysum essential oil

Furthermore, an essential oil to apply to the skin during winter is Helichrysum essential oil. This essential oil is anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-biotic, and is good for stimulating the growth of new skin cells.

Using Helichrysum essential oil is great for healing wounds, burns, and skin rashes. This oil also functions to hydrate your skin, so that it stays fresh, young and clean even in winter.

10. Vanilla

11. Jasmine Essential Oil

Apart from that, it also helps in fast healing of the skin due to its anti-bacterial properties.

Note: If you are pregnant, then do not use this oil because it has a bad effect on your fetus.

How to Use Essential Oils for Dry Skin

Essential oils are concentrated compounds that are removed or extracted from various plants. This oil is strong so that in every application it must be diluted first with a carrier oil such as olive oil or coconut oil.

If used directly, it will usually cause irritation to your skin. This can actually make irritation worse.

Don’t use Lemongrass oil, Tea tree oil, and cinnamon oil as carrier oils to dilute the essential oils for dry skin as we have already mentioned. These three types of oil can make the skin drier and damage skin function.
